FREQUENTY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Got a question? You're probably not the first to ask!

We've put together some answers to the questions we hear most often here, so you can quickly find the information you need.

If you can't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to get in touch! We're always happy to answer your question, offer advice and help you find the right solution.

Do you repair household appliances like fridges, freezers, microwaves or washing machines?

No, we don't.

We specialise in electronic equipment in the agricultural, horticultural and industrial sectors, automation and custom electronic solutions for the primary indsustries. White some appliance faults might look similar, household appliances require a different area of expertise.

For repairs to fridges, freezers, microwaves, washing machines, and other household appliances, your local appliance repair technician or electrician is usually the best place to start.

Not sure whether your equipment is something we can help with? Give us a call! We'd much rather answer a quick question than have you make an unnecessary trip.

What do you repair?

All sorts.

We regularly work on electronic control boards, agricultural and horticultural equipment, industrial electronics, automation systems and specialist electronic equipment. You can see a more comprehensive list here: FIX IT

If it's an unusual electronic fault or something that's no longer supported by the manufacturer, that's often where we do our best work.

Can you repair older or obsolete equipment or items the manufacturers no longer support?

Absolutely.

Just because a manufacturer has stopped supporting a product, that doesn't mean it's reached the end of it's life. More often than not, it's simply replacing a worn out part.

We'll assess the fault and, where practical, repair or even redesign what's needed to get it back up and running.

Can you help me turn my idea into a real product?

Absolutely.

Whether you've got a detailed plan or just an idea scribbled on the back of a serviette, we'd love to hear about it.

We design custom electronic solutions from concept through to working prototypes and production-ready products. We also offer custom 3D design and printing to prototype ideas, replace obsolete parts or create one-off solutions.

Every project is different, so we'll take the time to understand what you're trying to achieve before recommending the right approach.

Do you only work with other businesses?

Not at all.

While many of our customers are businesses we also work with individuals who need specialist electronic repairs or custom-designed solutions.

How much will it cost?

Every job is different.

Some repairs are straightforward, while others require more investigation. We'll always be upfront about what we find and will discuss your options with you before we undertake any major work.

No surprises. Just honest advice.

Do I have to bring my machinery to you?

Not necessarily.

Many jobs can be completed on-site, saving you the hassle of moving machinery and taking time out of your day. We offer a mobile repair and installation service throughout the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, working on everything from agricultural and horticultural equipment and machinery, to industrial and custom electronic systems and installations.

Simply let us know what the problem is and where it's located and we can arrange a time to come out. In many cases, you don't even need to be there. We'll keep you updated an get on with the job while you get on with yours.

If the job involves something that can be removed, such as a dashboard, display, control unit or ECU, it can often be couriered to us for assessment and repair. Just get in touch first, we will have a chat about the issues and let you know where you can send it.

Every job is different, so if you're not sure which option is best, give us a call. We'll recommend the easiest approach and take care of the rest.

What if it's not worth repairing?

Sometimes that's exactly what we find. If we do, we'll tell you.

If we believe that after accessing your item, it can't be repaired or that the cost of repair isn't worthwhile, we'll explain why and talk you through your options before any further work is carried out.

An inspection and diagnostic fee applies for the time spent accessing and fault-finding. If you choose to go ahead with the repair, we'll let you know the cost first, so there are no surprises.

Our goal isn't to convince you to spend money. It's to give you the information you need to make the right decision.

We like the tricky jobs.

If you've been told it's beyond repair, replacement parts no longer exist or nobody seems to know what's wrong with it, don't write it off just yet.

Those are exactly the kinds of challenges we enjoy.  We love solving the problems that others can't and we'll always give you an honest assessment of whether your equipment can be repaired and the costs involved.
